OWNER-OPERATOR

Position Highlights

AREAS OF OPERATION

Tandem Division

  • all areas east of the Mississippi river (usually within a 1,000 to 1,200 mile radius of Toronto)
  • no New York City required
  • home weekends

Multi-Axle Division

  • Ontario, Quebec and Michigan
  • home weekends

Compensation

Tandem Division

  • $1.20 per mile loaded 14 U.S. eastern seaboard states

(loads originating or delivering to customers domiciled in Ontario or Quebec)
(Designated Eastern Seaboard states are Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, District of Columbia)

  • $1.16 per mile loaded all other areas
  • $1.14 per mile empty all states and provinces
  • fuel surcharge will be the equivalent of $.48 per litre at 6.5 mpg converted to a mileage rate
  • $35 extra picks/drops
  • $30 per hour loading/unloading after 2nd hour
  • $.05 per mile premium hazardous waste

Multi-Axle Division 

  • $1.22 per mile loaded - quad-axle
  • $1.20 per empty mile – quad-axle
  • fuel surcharge will be the equivalent of .48 per litre at 5.5 mpg converted to a mileage rate
  • other compensation consistent with the tandem division

Company Responsibilities:

  • Payment on the 15th & last day of each month
  • Base plate
  • Tolls and bridge crossings
  • I.F.T.A. stickers
  • U.S.  Customs decal
  • U.S. Heavy Vehicle User Tax – 35% company paid

Owner/Operator Responsibilities:

  • Tractor Insurance – flat rate – tandem $275 per pay
    multi-axle $250 per pay
  • Deductible: 1st - $3,500 all coverage’s combined
    2nd - $5,000 within 12 month fiscal period
  • Driver Care Insurance Program – WSIB replacement, Benefits, Tractor protection

  • Holdback - $150 per pay to $3,000

DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 yrs OTR U.S. experience (preferably as an O/O)
  • quality driver and CVOR abstracts
  • FAST Card or unrestricted access to U.S.

EQUIPMENT

  • 5 yrs of age or newer (older equipment considered on individual basis)
  • 20,000 lbs max. weight full of fuel
  • maximum wheelbase 244”
  • maximum 5th wheel height 49”
